A little about myself:

On a fall day, long, long ago, I climbed aboard a big yellow Platte Valley School bus on my way to my first day of kindergarten.  Thirteen years later, I donned my blue Platte Valley graduation robe.  In 2004, I returned to my old Bronco stomping grounds to sign a teaching contract.  And still, this is the school that I love!
I did much to prepare for the good work I get to do here.  I started my undergraduate education at Bryan College in Dayton, TN.  When I got engaged to my high school sweetheart, I transferred to Simpson University in Redding, CA.  After a semester studying abroad at Oxford in England, I returned to CA where I graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Once my career and family were settled, I earned a Master's of Education degree as a Reading Specialist with High Distinction.  Every day I use what I have learned in school while I explore literature and writing with my Freshman and Sophomore English students.  When I'm done teaching, my attention switches to providing literacy support for the district.
Although I love my job, my heart is at home with my family--my husband, Jeff, and my two elementary age daughters.  We love our weekly TCBY nights, local geo-caching adventures, and cross-country road trips.  On those trips, I have been known to crack open a book or two.  My favorites are Jane Eyre and Frankenstein.  Maybe someday I'll write a book of my own.  Until then, I am blessed to live and serve here at Platte Valley Schools.
