Our very own high school language arts teacher, Dana Green, is being honored as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars. Her commitment to her students and their education along with being a role model lead a student to nominate her for the award.

Platte Valley High School Principal Eric Lind said it’s well deserved.

“Mrs. Dana Green’s dedication to her craft is palpable, evident in every lesson she delivers and every student she inspires. Her ability to forge meaningful relationships with her students sets her apart as a first-class instructor, guiding them not only through literature but through life's complexities with wisdom and care,” said Lind.

The award recognizes outstanding educators who are not just devoted to their students but who also inspire them beyond their time in school.

“I want to congratulate Dr. Green for being recognized as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction. Dr. Green’s commitment to help all students excel is a result of her genuine care and concern for all students along with her belief in the power of public education. We are thankful to see our former students recognize the work, commitment, and dedication Dr. Green has put in to help every individual grow,” said Platte Valley Superintendent Jeremy Burmeister.

Though Green said she is thankful for the recognition, she remains humble as she credits her students for the award.

“While grateful for this award, I sincerely believe it is my students who deserve recognition. Platte Valley is home to countless brilliant students who inspire me to be a better educator,” said Green.
